Autumn in New York

Long Island New York...

Due to a very hot dry August followed by the impact of Hurricane Irene, our autumn is less spectacular than it has been in recent years.  It's not breathtaking color everywhere you look.  But with a little exploring, I've found a couple of locations on the island where it really looks like fall.  Here's the best of the season where I live...

Pretty. Have to search far & wide for any fall color up here. All I saw on my drive yesterday was either still green trees, dead (browned leaves) and still on the trees, or bare limbs. Not to mention the thousands of broken branches from that freak snowstorm! You didn't get any of that snow??

Maybe there is less color where you live, but the architecture is amazing, the way the branches spread...

I absolutely love that shot of the leaves floating in the water.

Great pictures, I love the paths and the leaves on the water is just a treat.
