Round Robin Challenge - Anything in Threes

After a long hiatus, I am back to participate in the Round Robin Photo Challenge.

This week's challenge...

"Anything in 3's, must be the same theme and presented in 3 images."

I've chosen the theme "Ducks That Winter on Long Island." Here on Long Island, each season brings a new variety of birds through the area. In winter, it's the ducks. I was never really aware that there were SO many duck species, but I made it a point this past winter to get out to find, photograph, and identify as many as I could. It's a bit of a challenge. It's COLD near the water and often they are too timid to get very close to the shore. It takes some patience and stealth to get close enough to them to get a reasonable shot. These aren't your domesticated white ducks or mallards that expect every human they see to have a spare loaf of bread.

I think they're delightful in their fu
nny looking sort of way...

I love your duck photos---they are so pretty and clear. I especially love the way the first one has a reflection in the water.

As always your photographs are so beautiful! The first duck with his reflection, the second and third are unusual looking ducks (at least for me in my neck of the woods). Love em all! I'm glad you came back. I've been here off and on when time allows. Been thinking about you and hope all is well for you and your family.

Hi Kat :)

Goodness I have missed you... WELCOME BACK! You know how much I loves me ducks. I thought about using ducks for my post as well, but finally chose the jellyfish. Sqiggggly. LOL. Oh my goodness, like I said, I have missed you! I hope you will be able to join us again soon!

Hugs, Carly

You always freak me out a little. I've been shooting ducks (with my CAMERA!) a whole lot lately and loving it. But once again, none like yours.
Lovely Kat...

And we have hooded magansers here...too cute!

I love your duck pictures! They are quite different from the species we have here in the Northwestern U.S. Thanks for sharing them -- good job with the stealthiness! LOL!
