The Blogger's Community Photo Challenge is back after summer hiatus and just in time to take advantage of the beautiful fall colors.
Peak fall color has not arrived on Long Island yet, but about two weeks ago, I had the occasion to be driving between The Berkshires in western Massachusetts and Bridgeport, CT. I think I lucked into the height of color in that area.
It was a strange day. The sky was dark, threatening bad weather. Some of the resulting photos have a slightly unrealistic color. It was one of those days when the sky was angry but at times, the sun would appear at an angle to give the entire scene a special glow. Just wanted to clarify that this was nature, not photoshop.
This is a different lake...right on the Connecticut line. The weather had cleared and it had turned into a beautiful day.

These are great Kat! I love the composition of the top photo...even the middle image looks cool with the threatening sky. The colors seem to pop out more with the dark sky. I even like the shape of the last one. looks nice squared!
CT is really pretty, isn't it?? You found some nice places to photograph! I would love to live in NW CT or up in Mass someday.

Hi Kat! It's me! I am back!!!! I finally got that camera I wanted so very long ago when I asked you all kinds of questions and want to get back into the blogging community because their are so many great photographers and people here! I have thought of you often during my time away and wondered how you were! That is soooooo great about the BH contract-WOW! Now I need to figure out how to do all this again! As always your photos are an inspiration!

Kat, wow! Gorgeous colors, great compositions. Lucky you to see those colors! I like the composition of the third one best...it's just different from what I'm used to seeing. :)

These are absolutely stunning, I love the brooding dark sky one! I've been to New England in the fall and seen for myself the fantastic display of fall colours you have, it's good to see them again! Jeannette xx
